"Cheguei Recife!"

La Belle De Jour

As soon as we arrived in Recife, going to the beach was at the top of our adventures list. We already knew Dylan was fearless and loved water, so we had high expectations of what his reaction would be when he saw the vast ocean for the first time.

On our way to Boa Viagem beach, we got to experience some of the joys of being in Brazil, such as:

The buildings

The people on the stop lights trying to sell all sorts of exotic fruits, candy, and popcorn.

And of course the traffic.

We finally got there (okay, it is not that far, about 15 min from were my parents live).

It was a beautiful day, and Dylan responded to the ocean just like a little turtle responds to nature's call after hatching from its egg, he went straight for the water.

He loved every second of it.
Ele amou cada segundo na praia.

Maybe not every second.
Talvez nao cada segundo...

He splashed in the warm salty water, held sand tightly with his little fingers (of course he tried to eat it a few times), and ran with Vovo Sonia in the beach.

The day had already been lovely, and it got unbelievably perfect. Scott and I were swimming on the natural pools that are created by the reefs. We looked over to see Dylan playing with Vovo. A little Brazilian beauty walked towards him and stood there staring at him. After about 30 seconds, she put both of her little hands, one in each side of his face and gave him a tiny kiss on the lips. Then she walked away... I do not know what her name was, but I like to think of her as La Belle De Jour.
